Pas un discophile, pas un amateur de musique classique, ne peut ignorer ce label français, aujourd’hui sexagénaire, et qui, malgré de récents soubresauts, porte encore beau.
Harmonia Mundi a été fondé en 1958 par le regretté Bernard Coutaz, l’un de ces aventuriers du disque qui, comme Philippe Loury et Michel Garcin qui fondèrent Erato en 1950, permit à plusieurs générations d’artistes d’éclore, de développer des projets au long cours, et construit ainsi un catalogue d’une richesse exceptionnelle.
Pour célébrer ces 60 ans d’aventure ininterrompue, le label propose deux beaux coffrets – à petit prix – qui récapitulent très intelligemment, en évitant la compilation morcelée, ces six décennies du « Temps des révolutions » (la révolution baroque) et d »Esprit de famille » (la fidélité à tant d’artistes).
